2009-2010 Calendar change for snow
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Houston County Schools included in the 2009-2010 school calendar nine (9) days for inclement weather. With the recent snows, our schools were closed for twelve (12) days. Therefore, the school instructional calendar currently has to be amended to make up three (3) days. In the development of the calendar changes, much thought and consideration was given as to how to increase instructional time prior to state testing.
The three days will be made up as follows:
Day 1 March 19, 2010 will become a student attendance day.
Days 2 & 3 Add 30 minutes to the school day beginning March 1 and ending April 20 (the end date could change if additional days are missed). School will start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.
As buses arrive at all schools by 7:30, we do not anticipate a change in the morning time schedule of buses. However, the afternoon routes will be delayed fifteen (15) minutes. If a time change becomes necessary for your child’s bus route, you will be notified.
HCMS: Netbook Bid Request
The Houston County Board of Education is accepting bids for the purchase of 75 netbooks and 3 netbook carts. Bid specifications may be obtained at the Houston County Board of Education office or by contacting Ray Busey, Houston County Middle School Principal:

All bids must be sealed bids. The bids will be open at 11:00 A.M. January 5, 2010.

Houston Co. Schools will be closed Monday, February 15th in observance of President’s Day.
February 24th PLC Day. Schools will dismiss at 12:30.
